Author Receives International Recognition Through U.S. National Indie Excellence Awards

Ottawa, Canada, June 5, 2012 -- The Sixth Annual National Indie Excellence Awards recognized “You’re Special Wherever You Are” by Kita Szpak in the category of Children’s-Inspirational/Motivational as a finalist.

This national award, based in Los Angeles, CA is open to all English language books including small presses, university presses, independent publishers and self-published authors. Works published in 2009, 2010 and 2011 were eligible for consideration.

The competition is judged by independent experts from all aspects of the indie book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters. They select award winners and finalists based on overall excellence of presentation.

“You’re Special Wherever You Are” is a picture book/pre-chapter book that includes three stories about a camel, a zebra and a dragon, who are all a little different.  They show us how important it is to be yourself no matter what the situation may be.
