The Felt Kingdom

The Felt Kingdom

One of the things that I love about the Word of God is the way the Holy Spirit has hidden clues to Kingdom principles and truths right in the narrative and then allows us to “discover” them. Of course what He truly does is reveal them to us, but He still allows the adventure of the search! (Proverbs 25:2)

Many of these hidden gems can found in the accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus. Mark 5:1-2 is such a place.

“They came to the other side of the…

So you’re facebooking, tweeting, blogging, linking in, updating, posting, connecting, submitting, sending, thanking, resending, responding, talking, selling, promoting, presenting, videoing, resending, querying, researching, learning, redoing, asking, discussing, meeting, painting, interviewing, writing, partnering, refusing, recording, filming, scripting, performing, drawing, and then some.  Keep doing it; you may think no one is noticing but they are.  I…

Kita's Gentle Message: The Science of Buttons (Saturday, August 18, 2012)

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks helping my mom move from her home of 35 years into her new apartment.  Luckily she remains in the same city so the familiar geography offsets the trauma of going into a much smaller space high above street level.  The location is lovely – mom deserves such a spot. It all boils down to which buttons to press when – from phone to elevator, from parking garage to TV remote, from microwave to shower.   Truth be told, mom’s pretty good…

Pearls - a review

Pearls by Lisa Mills is everything a good book should be. Romance, intrigue, mystery, buried treasure – this is one book I’d like to see made into a movie. It has all the right trappings for it. Isabel Palmer has moved to Venezuela to discover herself. Her mother, a native Venezuelan, moved to the US for love. Now Isabel wants to discover her roots and is living as an exchange student. Her maternal Grandmother gives her a precious gift – a five hundred year old diary that has…

Kita's Gentle Message: Olympic Fever (Saturday, August 4, 2012)

Since hearing the words, “…the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat” (ABC’s Wide World of Sports), as a little kid, I’ve been captivated by the drama of sport – watching it and having the opportunity to participate in it as well.  No soap opera could get me turning on the TV as the Olympics can.  And talk about motivation…if anyone will leave you encouraged and inspired to reach your dreams, the athletes putting it on the line in London can.…
