Kita's Gentle Message: Tomorrow is October (Friday, Sept 30 2011)

It seems we celebrated the coming of a new year just weeks ago.  I can still remember the first time

it felt like spring again when I felt the sun warm my back.  And wasn’t it just days ago that we jumped in

the water to cool off after a morning run?

Tomorrow is October and I know where the time has gone.  It’s gone…

Donating to the Devil?

Donating to the Devil?

The Lord is so creative. He can speak to us through any means He chooses. I think He does that to keep us on our toes and alert to His voice. You never know when or how the word of Lord may come. This week he used a deodorant advertisement in a sports magazine to get my attention. Hey, He sent ravens with bread to feed the prophet Elijah at the brook Cherith, so I guess using a deodorant ad is not too hard for Him.

The ad featured an interview…

Kita's Gentle Message: Calling All Angels (Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011)

I read the papers and go online to keep up-to-date, and you know what? It seems tougher to read the news lately because of some of the heart-breaking situations that are making their way into print. Is this media driven? Meant to sell more papers? Is the world a harder place to live in? There certainly is more news to pool from… Whether this makes the world a nastier place – I would say, “No.” It’s a question of focus, isn’t it? Right now I’m calling all angels to send… Continue

The word is usually associated with the battlefield, or sports. Sometimes it is used to describe the actions of people who have gone through catastrophic circumstances in their lives. Courage like that has prompted this writing.

The other night my wife and I watched the movie “The King’s Speech”. Many of you have probably already seen it. It won the Oscar for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards. We’re actually late in the game; the film…

Kita's Gentle Message: Dad's Passing (Saturday, September 17, 2011)

It’s been three weeks since I last wrote a Gentle Message to you. My Dad died on September 3 after a long illness, and I have spent the time with family remembering Dad and laying him to rest. This is my first experience with the death of a loved one. Dad was a loving and wonderful father, husband and dziadek (“grandpa” in Polish). And there are so many different takes on death and how it might affect you that frankly, I didn’t know what to expect. What I have received… Continue

Sell More Books – Book Marketing and Publishing For Low Profile and Debut Authors – Rethinking Book Publicity After the Digital Media Revolutions. There it is. The complete title, including subtitles. Why on earth would anyone want such a long title, anyway? Well, for the answer, read this book! In fact, read this book for every other reason you can think of to address the myriad of questions that the title raises, because - pardon the cliché – this really is a must read for low profile and… Continue

Iron on Iron

Iron on Iron

There is a rather enigmatic proverb that has come to have new meaning for me. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the countenance of his friend”, or, “…so one man sharpens another.”

Iron sharpening iron immediately conjures up images of “Braveheart”, “300”, or “Gladiator”. For we men especially iron on iron speaks of combat or competition. Certainly there is a place for that kind of iron sharpening iron. As we “do battle” in the… Continue

Fast! Or Slow….

Fast! Or Slow….

Like most of you, I regularly read a number of publications to stay on top on world affairs, business trends, etc. Recently I read two magazines back to back, and what I encountered in the process was eye-opening!

The first magazine is called “Entrepreneur”. Because it’s dedicated to chronicling the hottest trends and breakthroughs in the world of 21st Century “Treps”, it is very fast paced and chocked full of the latest things people have figured… Continue
