Kita' s Gentle Message: Making Mistakes When You Care (Sunday, December 29, 2013)

Getting together with family over the holidays may have been a challenge for some of you.  It was for me.  As you know, I talk about happiness, love and compassion a lot as these elements drive me in my life.  Yet I still fall short.  More than a couple of days with close family members and my milk of human kindness starts to sour.  And I realize it’s going to take a while longer – another year, years maybe before I have that sense of calm detachment with those I…

Kita’s Gentle Message: Peace on Earth - Let It Begin With You (Saturday, December 21, 2013)

One word of kindness; one act of kindness every day will make a difference in someone’s life – and in yours. The “feel-good” result you feel permeates your body – your cells - to the point of physical and psychological well-being if done on a regular basis. Be kind and the peace that passes all understanding will be yours. Let it begin this holiday season and let it begin with you. Warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. …

You Can Teach An Old Dog A New Trick

I had a great experience yesterday. I got to do my very first interview for the Authors Show radio. The show is in the initial stage but for me if it never went any further than what I did yesterday it will be something that I will cherish for a life time. I won't detail the what and how's right now. What I want to express is the feeling of excepting change and realizing that at my comfortable vintage age that I can learn something new…

Kita' s Gentle Message: Compassion, Empathy and Ubuntu (Saturday, December 14, 2013)

I’ve learned a new word this week: Ubuntu.  It means “I am because of you”.  Isn’t it beautiful?  The word originates from South Africa and represents the inter-relatedness of animals and humans.  I’ve always loved the words “compassion” and “empathy” – because they evoke the need and desire to feel and feel for another person.  It seems “ubuntu” completes this caring circle.  I am because of you.  Let ubuntu carry you through this special time of…

A True Champion

A True Champion

I just love it when the Lord Jesus does something through one of His kids that is totally unexpected. He loves to surprise people! When that happens even those who don’t understand what’s truly going on are affected. My wife and I recently witnessed one of these moments on TV of all places.

We were watching a popular cooking show on which four…

Exceprt from The Witch's Hand.

From Chapter 12, “A Leap in the Dark”

Deep in the night, long after Matins, Malaxia entered her sanctum with a candle and went all the way to the rear, the candle dancing splinters of light over and amidst the amethyst. Setting it down, she regarded the skull in its niche.

      "Are you there, you charlatan?"

There was no answer. Malaxia waited briefly, and was about to close the sliding door over it, when a noise like sparks snapping in a…
